Milling on Ocean Parkway Service Road Starts Tuesday

Paving will start roughly three weeks later.

The Department of Transportation will be giving the Ocean Parkway service road a needed repaving starting on Tuesday, meaning the streets will be a little more difficult to navigate in the coming days and weeks.

From Tuesday, Aug. 7 to Thursday, Aug. 9,  the southbound Ocean Parkway Service Road—Ave C to Ditmas Ave.—as well as the northbound Ocean Parkway Service Road—18th Avenue to Caton Avenue—will be milled. Paving will begin around three weeks later.

Be sure to drive with extra care in the time between the milling and paving—milling entails tearing away the road's surface, leaving behind large crags and stray hunks of asphalt that can wreak havoc on a speeding car or bicycle.
