New Miss America is a Windsor Terrace Woman

Mallory Hagan was named America's top beauty queen on Saturday.

She may be Miss America, but she rests her crown in Windsor Terrace.

Mallory Hagan, 23, on Saturday became the country's newest Miss America after charming judges with her bright smile and formidable tap dancing skills.

But at the end of a glamor-filled day, it's a red brick apartment on 17th Street that Hagan calls home.

When she's not strutting her stuff down the catwalk, Hagan has been spotted out and about in the neighborhood.

"I've seen her once. To tell you the truth, I didn't remember her at first," said Konstantinos Roros, a manager at the Windsor Cafe. "Then I took a good look at the newspaper. I said 'Oh my God, she sat over there,'" he said, pointing to a chair at the end of the counter.

"She's a nice lady, very nice," said owner Herculis Kontogiannis, adding that the beauty queen always orders an egg white vegetarian omelet—no potatoes, no toast.

If Hagan does decide to deviate from her carefully monitored diet, the nearby Double Windsor is more than happy to help her indulge.

“Congrats Mallory our neighborhood Miss America!” a sign outside says. “If you are Miss America, come in for your free bacon cheeseburger and unlimited fries.”
