Cake Pop Shop Opens on Fourth Avenue

The owner started making Fabipops after the death of her newborn in 2011.

Renowned for its gourmet cake pops, ring pops and push pops, Fabipops opened in Park Slope on Thursday.

Helmed by Fabiola Scarbrough, the gourmet cake pop shop at 60 Fourth Ave. offers 17 different cake pop flavors including birthday cake, s’mores, cotton candy and winter breeze. Cake pops are made with moist cake mixed with creamy frosting, hand molded and dipped in chocolate.

The tasty treats sell for $2.50 each or $30 for a dozen.

Scarbrough’s initial cake pop inspiration derived from the death of her one-month-old son who died of pneumonia in 2011, theBrooklyn Paper reported.

"I went through a tragedy," she said. "Baking takes me away."

The former accountant started making cake pops for family and friends and eventually quit her job to pursue the baking business now known as Fabipops.
