In April, Kensington lost , one of the few diners of its kind in the area.
Connie's demise began with a sign that appeared on its front door on April 10, stating that the restaurant had been shuttered by the Health Department for operating without a permit. It briefly reopened before closing down for good.
But one thing Connie left behind—aside from a gaggle of disgruntled former patrons—is a sizeable space for a promising new tenant.
Located at 424 Church Ave., the former eatery is equipped with a spacious dining room and floor-to-ceiling windows, making it an apt home for any number of new businesses.
The exterior is nothing to sneeze at either: The side of the building facing East 5th Street doubles as a colorful mural, created by the community in 2011 in partnership with Groundswell Community Mural Project and the Department of Transportation
The question is: What should go there now?
