Stretch your brain back into fighting form after the weekend with a free writing workshop at Central Library. The event is held weekly by the NYC Writers Coalition, and is open to wordsmiths of all genres and skill levels. From 1 to 3 p.m. Writing supplies are provided.

The otherwise fashionable Bell House is nerding out for the night with Secret Science Club, a monthly event for those who enjoy attending academic lectures almost as much as they enjoy getting wasted on mixed drinks. This month's talk features neuroscientist Andre Fenton, who will school attendees on the science of memory and forgetting. Starts at 8 p.m. Free.

One of the oft-forgotten joys of elementary school is show-and-tell, in which you were not only allowed to bring to class any sweet possession that you wanted, but given free rein to brag before a jealous audience. Relive the good old days at Freddy's Bar on Wednesday, wherein particpants are invited to bring the item of their choosing and talk about it for up to three minutes. 8 to 11:30 p.m.

The Atlantic 10 Men's Championship's will be held at the Barclays Center beginning on Thursday and running through Sunday. Whether you're cheering on your alma mater or are in it solely for the Fatty 'Cue, grab your tickets here.
