Kings D.A. Seeks 'Extraordinary Women' Nominees

Thirty-one women from around the borough will be named "neighborhood ambassadors" for their communities.

Do you know an extraordinary woman?

Kings County District Attorney Charles Hynes will for the fifth year be selecting 31 women from around the borough—one for each day of the month of March—to receive his annual Extraordinary Women of Brooklyn honor. 

According to a statement from the D.A.'s office, nominees should "have demonstrated impressive service in their community and exemplified outstanding character."

"These women are selfless, always willing to help others, and have a profound impact on those around them," the statement says. "They represent diverse, multi-ethnic cultural backgrounds and are drawn from all walks of life. They are teachers, business owners, coaches, bus matrons, volunteers as well as mothers, grandmothers and aunts." 

Winners will be awarded with the distinction of being named "Neighborhood Ambassadors" around their communities.

Nominations must be submitted by Monday, Jan. 14.
