"Love Your Block" Awards from Citizens Committee for New York City!

More money for neighborhood improvements:

Love your block? Show it! The Office of the Mayor and Citizens Committee for New York City invite your volunteer-led neighborhood group to apply for a block transformation grant. Grants of $500 to $1,000 are awarded for block improvements that can be used toward various neighborhood renovations, such as cleaning vacant lots, planting tress in empty tree beds, and removing graffiti.

Another important part of this grant program is the opportunity for your group to access specific city services that will help revitalize your block, including the Department of Transportation, Sanitation and Parks & Recreation.
