The Best Bars to Watch Sports

The Best Bars to Watch Sports

The neon sign is back at Farrell's, by Betty Blade.

Since we're entering the height of sports-watchin' season, with postseason baseball on the horizon and the NFL season just underway, we'd like to hear where you love to pull up a stool, grab a beer, and watch a game in the neighborhood.

As a Mets fan, knowing the best place to drown my sorrows is essential, so here are just a few choices:

Farrell's (215 Prospect Park West at 16th St): I'm pretty sure 80% of the everyday conversation in the bar is about sports, so heading here to watch a game is a no-brainer.

Rhythm & Booze (1674 10th Ave at Prospect Ave): Enough TVs for whatever game you want to watch, plus a pretty good burger.

Brooklyn Pub (689 6th Ave at 20th St): Great for the sports and the menu, if a bit of a hike depending on where you are. Rather stay at home and watch the game? They deliver.

Shenanigans (802 Caton Ave at E 8th St): Heading all the way to the other end of the area, you can catch a game on Saturday afternoon, and then stick around at night for karaoke.

If you're looking to head even further south, Denny's on Church Ave was recently written up as quite the scene for football.

So where do you go to watch games? Is anyplace better for one thing over another--like, best for Jets games, best for hockey, etc.? Let us know in the comments.
