The Early Word: Brooklyn PTA 5K Raises Record-Breaking $11,000

Scripted and documentary films will be accepted in two categories: Express (one to three minutes, excluding titles and credits) and Local (under 10 minutes, excluding titles and credits). 4. The 5th Annual Brooklyn PTA 5K—in which roughly 500 elementary school children from across the borough biked, ran and scootered through Prospect Park—earned a record breaking $11,000 for Brooklyn schools, said Councilman Brad Lander, D-Park Slope. The proceeds will be shared by all schools that sponsored at least 20 runners.
