Bye, Bye Miss America: Mallory Hagan is Leaving Windsor Terrace

Before she packs her bags and leaves, what local gems should our resident beauty queen visit?

Only a few short weeks ago, Mallory Hagan was like any other Windsor Terrace resident. She ate egg white omelets. She drank coffee from her local deli. She went to the dry cleaners.

But on Jan. 12, her life as a semi-anonymous girl next door met its abrupt end. She became Miss America, and suddenly everyone had an opinion on where she should be spending her time at home in Windsor Terrace.

And now, she's on her way out. The New York Post reported Monday that her considerable responsibilities will have her away from Brooklyn for most of the year, meaning she won't have the time to explore neighborhood's oft-overlooked gems.

Last week, The New York Daily News came up with a list of the beauty queen's local "hot spots," tabloid-speak for "places into which she has stepped foot, probably," like Windsor Cafe and Eden Dry Cleaners and Tailoring.

This breakdown of Hagan's purported haunts was was met with great ire from L Magazine, which retaliated with its own list on where Hagan should be spending her time. Why would Miss America eat at Windsor Cafe when she could eat at the more fashionable DUB Pies? Why would she get her clothes dry cleaned when she could be tottering around the mausoleums at Green-Wood Cemetery?!

But as far as we know, she's not gone yet. What Windsor Terrace mainstays do you think Mallory Hagan should check out before she hits the road?
