It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's a...Space Shuttle?

If you thought D.C. got to have all the space shuttle flyover fun, you were happily mistaken.

NASA's space shuttle Enterprise is scheduled to soar over the Hudson River on Friday between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. as part of its celebrated arrival to New York City.

The shuttle will be attached to a Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (SCA), flanked by two T-38s. The whole ensemble will fly over the Statue of Liberty and the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, where the shuttle will eventually be housed.

According to the museum's website, the SCA will land at John F. Kennedy International Airport, where it will spend the next few weeks being de-mated from the Enterprise. The shuttle will be transported by barge to the museum—located in Hell's Kitchen—sometime in June, and the exhibit will be open to the public in July.
