Brooklyn Half-Marathon Arrives May 19

Race's new route starts at Brooklyn Museum, circles Grand Army Plaza.

It's too late to sign up, but you can still cheer on the runners in this year's Brooklyn Half-Marathon.

The organizing New York Road Runners will be inaugurating . The race will begin near the Brooklyn Museum and loop around Grand Army Plaza before heading down Flatbush Avenue, across Parkside Avenue and into Prospect Park.

The reason for the change is to accommodate the large number of entrants, as well as to prevent faster runners from lapping slower ones.

Officials say the best place for spectators is the finish line in Coney Island on 10th or 12th streets or Stillwell Avenue.

For more information, see Brooklyn Half-Marathon official site.

Will you be spectating at this weekend's race?
