Alison Bert is a journalist and photographer. She was a reporter for The Journal News for seven years before becoming Executive Editor of Global Communications at Elsevier.
In the previous century, Alison was a classical guitarist and music professor. While working on a doctorate in music, she was a Fulbright Scholar in Spain  and studied in a master class with Andrés Segovia. She went on to join the music faculty of Syracuse University, where she earned a master's degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
